Due to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Authorities of the organizing countries, concerning the spreading of the Coronavirus, and taking in consideration the financial penalties in Switzerland for delayed cancellation as well as the statutory delay for the convocation, UMB and the Swiss Billiards Federation decided to cancel the UMB General Assembly, scheduled for 21 November 2020 to be postponed to 20 June 2021, to take place in Valencia, Spain.
For the same penalty reasons, the Swiss Billiards Federation and the organizer decided to cancel the Lausanne Billiard Masters that was scheduled for 20 to 22 November 2020.
UMB will keep monitoring the recommendations of the WHO concerning the spreading of the Corona virus in relation with future UMB events.
UMB is continuously monitoring the situation related to the conflict UMB-PBA. Both UMB and PBA agreed to reopen the dialog to find a mutual acceptable solution.
Due to the travel restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus, dialog meetings have been cancelled. PBA informed us that they will shortly, in a few weeks, issue a first discussion document to be mutually evaluated.
We hope that the dialog will soon be reopened between UMB-KBF and PBA and that both parties will be able to compromise for a stable mutual agreement. Where there is a will there is also a way.
In the meantime, UMB received a copy of the so-called win-win agreement concerning a domestic collaboration between KBF and PBA. To avoid any kind of misunderstanding concerning the current situation, UMB disapproves the collaboration between a Federation and PBA, until the conflict between UMB and PBA has been solved and the Issued EU Court Case against UMB officially no longer pending.
Although UMB never interferes in domestic Federation matters, it must be clear that domestic events must comply with the Federation jurisdiction in accordance with the UMB Statutes, Rules and Regulations, concerning the participation of players and these events must not be related to the players world ranking.
