The UMB and FC Porto have enjoyed a mutual collaboration since 2002, with the recent global pandemic sporting events all over the world have been cancelled or postponed. With restrictions lifting and sporting events finally now beginning again, clubs that handle multiple sporting disciplines, such as FC Porto, are experiencing venue scheduling difficulties. Arranging for 10 consecutive days on the venue calendar for a World Cup has not been possible due to the rescheduled home matches for other sports.
With this in mind, the UMB and FC Porto have agreed to postpone the 3 Cushion World Cup due to be held in Porto in June 2022, to the following year, 2023. It was also agreed that the World Cup will continue to be held in Porto in 2024 and 2025.
We thank FC Porto for their ongoing efforts in developing billiards and look forward to continuing our partnership over the coming years. The new dates for the Porto World Cup are available on the UMB Calendar.
