After two weeks of high-level billiards in Sharm El Sheikh, today the individual world championship closed brilliantly, the winner in this 73rd edition of the UMB individual three cushion World Championship was the Dutch player Dick Jaspers who prevailed by 50-48 to the Turkish player Murat N. COKLU.
In the semifinals and in an emotional match COKLU beat Marco Zanetti 50-48 in 32 innings, meanwhile JASPERS ensured the pass to the final after beating the GERMAN player Martin HORN with a score of 50-47 in 27 innings.
Marco Zanetti´s mother passed away , Marco received the sad news just after his match in the semi-final. immediately made the arrangements to quickly leave for Italy. The UMB Committee wishes Marco and his loved ones strength and resignation for this tragic loss and expresses its sincere condolences.
A magnificent edition closed for the Ministry of Youth and Sport H.E. Mr. Ashraf Sobhi , H.E. General Khaled Foda Governor of South Sinai , Mr. Ahmed Galai Chairman of Akhbar El Yom Organisation and sport autorities of UMB and EBFS with a perfect organization by the Egyptian billiards federation and a safe and pleasant stay for all participants and fans in Sharm El Sheikh.
