Dear Sport Friend,
It appears that the actual World Cup inscription rules do not cover the requirements needed for maintaining the World Cup technical level. Many “high level” players are unable to participate due to a premature full inscription list.
Therefore the UMB board decided to amend the inscription rules as follows:
- Ranking Players 1-14 are seeded (no change)
- Places 15-17 – Are for Wild cards (no change)
- Ranking Players 15-96 (82 places): will remain during 3 days from the publication date and time, open for inscriptions.
- 1 player for each National Federation will remain during 3 days from the publication date and time, open for inscriptions, only per e-mail to the UMB Sports Director: Farouk.barki@umb-carom.org
- The organizer has the right to reserve a maximum of 15% of the qualification tournament for players of his Federation
The new rules are published on the UMB Website with the following changes to article 10.:
- 82 Places for the qualification tournament will be reserved for 3 days only from the publishing of the invitation for players ranked from 15 to 96 on the applicable World Rankings – Following this three day period registration will be open for free places for all players until the tournament qualification deadline.
- For 3 days only, beginning from publishing of the invitation, each National Federation will have only 1 player on Players List, the remaining players from the same National Federation will be on the Reserve List according to registration priority, after 3 days they will be moved to the Players List according to available places; this rule does not affect the 82 places reserved for players ranked from 15 to 96.
- The organizer has the right to reserve a maximum of 15% of the qualification tournament for players of his Federation – in this case only players from his Federation ranked up to 96 on the applicable World Ranking can register direct to the qualification tournament.
- Wild Cards must be nominated within maximum 4 weeks from the publishing of the invitation.
We invite the Players, Federations and Confederations to take good notice of these changes by consulting the new published rules: http://files.umb-carom.org/Public/Rules/UMB_WC_Rules_2016.pdf
