THE 2017 3-CUSHION WORLD GAMES FINAL IS A FACT.
Daniel Sanchez reached the Final in a semifinal match where his victory never was in danger; with 40-16 in 25 innings.
The second semifinal, Marco Zanetti vs Dick Jaspers, had no outstanding player. It was a real struggle with exciting moments. A better start of Marco Zanetti, 12-3 in 7 innings, already promised a tough match.
At the break, 24-13, the Dutch Player was only able to slightly shorten the gap. After a tough struggle from both sides, the final score showed 40-36 in 23 innings, classifying Zanetti for the Final battle.
Jaspers had then to compete for the Bronze Medal vs Sameh Sidhom, the successful Egyptian Player who contributed in the World Games medal list for Egypt, earning a podium place, with a score of 40-26 in 23 innings.
A passionate battle still remains to be played that will determine the Gold and Silver Medal Winners of the 2017 Wroclaw World Games, Daniel Sanchez vs Marco Zanetti, tomorrow at 12:30.
The 2017 Wroclaw World Games are reaching their final stage for the 3-Cushion discipline. Today’s semifinals will start at local time 10:00 AM with Daniel Sanchez vs Sameh Sidhom followed at 12:30 by Dick Jaspers vs Marco Zanetti.

Officials of the evaluation committee and International Olympic Committee were yesterday present as well as the highest local authorities and representation of the International World Games Association with its Spanish President Mr. José Perurena.
The World Games constitute the façade and arena where the top athletes of the participating sports disciplines compete to the best of their ability to bring their sport to the Olympic Games program.

Thee-Cushion Billiards, is represented by athletes from Africa, America, Asia and Europe. The current World Champion and leader of the World ranking, Daniel Sanchez from Spain, Gold Medal Winner of the World Games in Akita, 2001, and Duisburg, 2005, will start the competition against the player of the young Polish Federation, Dawid Tenojan. Marco Zanetti, Gold Medal Winner of the last edition of the World Games, Cali, Colombia 2013. Dick Jaspers, Gold Medal Winner of the World games in Kaohsiung, China 2009.
With an impressive participation from America: Patiño and Piedrabuena (USA), Cataño (Colombia) and Tellez (Costa Rica). From Asia: Tran (Vietnam), CHOI (Korea), Umeda (Japan). Europe’s top athletes: Palazón(Spain) Kokkoris (Greece) Leppens (Belgium) Capak (Turkey) and from Africa the brilliant Egyptian player, Sidhom.
Unfortunately and at the last minute we must inform that the Korean player CHOI has had to be replaced, we express our condolences for the pass away of his Father this past weekend.
