The first event on the continent that will have a special edition with the participation of 7 Bolivarian countries and 3 guests to give visibility to more sports and disciplines that are outside the Olympic cycle.
In 2024, the Bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho is commemorated. A historical event, a symbol of equality and freedom that consolidated the Independence of Peru and South America. For this reason, the Provincial Municipality of Huamanga proposed to hold a special edition of the Games in this region, which was accepted by the ODEBO.
The Games will feature athletes and officials from Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela, who will turn Ayacucho into a true sports festival.
The games will take place from November 28 to December 8, 2024, with the participation of some 1,321 athletes who, for 11 days, will compete for glory in 22 sports and 33 disciplines.
The games are part of the program of the Bolivarian Sports Organization (ODEBO), an entity that unites the Bolivarian countries in sports. In turn, it is part of the Pan American Sports Organization (Panam Sports), a subsidiary of the International Olympic Committee.
Created on August 16, 1938, it brings together the national Olympic committees of Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela.
In its 86 years of foundation, the organization has held a total of 19 Bolivarian Games, which bring together the affiliated countries every four years and start the Olympic cycle in the region. Billiards is a competitive sport and players from 6 countries participate, including Peru, Guatemala, Panama, Bolivia, Colombia and Venezuela.
These competitions are part of the preparation for the next Bolivarian Games that will take place in 2025 in Lima, Peru.
These competitions will be part of the Olympic cycle and will be decisive for billiards to participate as an exhibition sport in the next Pan American Games organized by Panam Sports in 2027.
In the 2024 Bicentennial Bolivarian Games, the anti-doping program follows international regulations and is aligned with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code. The commitment is to guarantee fair and clean competition for all athletes.
Billiards participates with 42 players from 6 countries and, additionally, there are 15 international referees.
