3-Cushion World Players in Lausanne

The third issue of the Lausanne Billiard Masters (LBM) will take place from Friday November 20th to Sunday November 22nd, at the “Casino de Montbenon” in Lausanne. The Olympic Capital welcomes eight of the World best 3-Cushion Players representing a total of 15 World titles and many World Cup victories…

For the third time, Lausanne will become, during three days, the World capital of Billiards. Eight of the best World Players – six of them in the World Top 7 ranking – and two representing Switzerland; one of them from Lausanne.

Great match expectations with Sung-Won Choi (Korea), Holder of the World Title, Torbjörn Blomdahl (Sweden) Leaser of the World Ranking, Marco Zanetti (Italy) Winner of the two first editions and the new successful Top Player from Turkey, Tayfun Tasdemir and brilliant World Cup Winner last September.

The LBM again welcomes Asia with the presence of the Korean World Champion who is eager to demonstrate he is in the best of his abilities, before defending his title at the upcoming 2015 World Championship that will take place in Bordeaux just 10 days after this event. We are proud to announce that LBM is first event in Europe that will be played on the Korean MIN tables that earned the reputation of permitting exceptional performances.

The LBM continue to participate to the benefit action “Sport pour SEP” in favor of the remedies against multiple sclerosis. Merck SA (Switzerland) will donate 5 Swiss Francs for each point made during the tournament to the “Centre Romand” of the “Societé Suisse de la SEP”. The raised funds will be used to improve the physical activities of persons confronted with this terrible disease. Each point made has thus not only a sportive effect but also solidarity towards the persons who carry this illness. In 2013 1.190 points were made resulting in an amount of 5.950 Swiss Francs and in 2014 of 7.935 Swiss Francs with 1.587 points made.

The tournament will start on Friday November 20th from 14:00 to 22:00, and will continue on Saturday 21st from 10:00 to 22:00, with the two groups qualifying matches. The Knock-Out phase - that will set the Casino in fire - starts Sunday 22nd at 10:00 and 12:00 with the semi-finals.

The final that will deliver the third LBM Winner is scheduled at 14:30.
