Guri World Cup 2015 launches tomorrow.

The venue in Gury Gymnasium is ready for the most exciting qualifying rounds.

The smoke has not even cleared at the Junior World championship in Guri when the World Cup will be launched in the same arena. The organizer in the Korean city welcomes the world top from 7 to September 13 half way the 2015 cycle: Luxor, Porto and Ho Chi Minh city have been played and are followed by Guri, Istanbul and Hurghada.

The venue in Gury Gymnasium gets ready in one day for the qualifying rounds at the World Cup: 149 players are on the start list. Torbjörn Blomdahl, Dick Jaspers and Eddy Merckx top the ranking of twelve seeded players, followed by the first Korean, Sung Won Choi, the world champion.

The Asian champion and four-time Junior world Haeng Jik Kim, who impressed in the Luxor World Cup, reaching the final against Dick Jaspers, returns on the world stage in his own country and will make a bid for a place in the top twelve of the world rankings.

The Korean crowd, spoiled by so many huge talents, stands surety for a brilliant atmosphere and will encourage the world stars in the battle for the final victory. Dick Jaspers, Torbjörn Blomdahl and Tayfun Tasdemir were the first winners this year. The showdown is open again in Guri with a big number of contenders for the podium places and many Korean players as the main challengers.

Torbjörn Blomdahl not only leads the world ranking, he is also the number one at the 2015 World Cup ranking after three tournaments, followed by Dick Jaspers and Tayfun Tasdemir.

The opening ceremony is on Friday, September 11th, 16.00, Korean time.

The UMB and the Korean organization with its tournament director Mr. Steve Lee invite the billiards fans around the world to watch the games online. Kozoom will broadcast all matches at the World Cup live.
