While there was a fantastic show going on nearby the venue organized in honor of the World Cup of Guri and attended by some four hundred local young people, Dutch Thérèse Klompenhauwer made history in the World Cup circuit being the first woman to obtain a place in the final tournament between the other 31 topplayers thanks to her results in the qualification-rounds. She beat Japanese Takeshima O. and Turkish Savas Bulut and performed a general average of 1,333.
