The聽 Asian Indoor Games, which are held in the Korean city of Incheon, host 100 events of 12 sports disciplines corresponding to 9 different sports. Billiards will be among them in all of its three tiers; snooker and pool present different male and female matches. As to the carom tier, two match types are involved: one 1-CUSHION, starting June 29 and ending July 2, and 3-CUSHION, from July 3 through July 7. The matches are organized by the ACBS (Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports). The carom tournaments include 16 players in each of the modalities.<o:p></o:p>
The Asian Games adhere to the international match types in accordance with the Olympic Cycle. Hence, during the month of July, carom will be present in two games of this cycle at the Cali World Games in Colombia, where at this very moment the Panamerican Billiards Championships are held.<o:p></o:p>
Billiards, and more specifically, carom, is putting in great effort on the part of the CPB (Pan-American Billiards Confederation) to participate in the Central American Games, which will be held in Nicaragua in 2015. Its presence is slowly but surely being consolidated at large multi-disciplinary events which are organized during the Olympics.
