Dear Sports Friends,
Dear Colleagues,

Despite a challenging economic climate throughout the world over the past years, the UMB, in cooperation with the Confederations and National Federations over 4 continents, has succeeded in achieving its target for World Championships and 90% of its target for World Cup / Grand Prix; I thank the Confederations, National Federations and Organizers for their cooperation.

I take this opportunity to congratulate the creation of the African Carom Confederation and its President Mr. Alsharif Alhussein, wishing him the best of luck in his work, and looking forward for our mutual cooperation for a fruitful future of our sport in this new Confederation.

I congratulate all winners of UMB organized events, and I wish all players the best of luck in the future ones.

From my side, and with the cooperation of UMB Board, we will always study and work for improving the standard of our events, which will accordingly improve the standard of our athletes; here I have to congratulate our players for the high technical level they have shown us the last months, and I ask them to keep it up and show us higher and higher levels; I must give credit for this also to equipment and materials manufacturers for their continuous improvement of their products.

In this regard, we are now on our way of issuing a Hand-Book and Check-List for the organization of our events, this will cover all persons involved in these events, as Organizers, Tournament Directors, Equipment, Tables Cleaning, Referees, Players…. etc.

We are also studying some changes in our Sports Rules, as well as some changes in the World Players Ranking system for more dynamic ranking; there are some events in this ranking which date 2 years ago, in my opinion, it is not good for our sport to profit from points for 2 years! Therefore, we are studying to decrease the number of World Cup / Grand Prix in the World Players Ranking.

Best regards,

Farouk El Barky
