THE SPECTACLE ENTERS ITS FINAL STAGE

Since last Monday, the various groups have been competing for the pre-qualifcation for the World Cup in Antalya. Today, this will reach one of its peaks with the final qualification round that has closed the make-up of the final tournament chart, which is being played this very morning.
It has been a very intense day, a close race between the best of the world ranking in the arena. The winners will now go on with the competition together with the four top-ranking players who start the competition today, Frédéric CAUDRON (BE), Torbjorn BLOMDAHL (ZW), Eddy MERCKX (BE), and Daniel SANCHEZ (SP).
The rivals in the sixteenth-finals have spawned encounters such as those between ZANETTI – HWANG, TASDEMIR - CHOI, winner of the last edition of this prestigious tournament, KASIDOKOSTAS – AVEIGA. These matches will definitely be very close and complicated. Also, the level of the qualified players, as well as the marks won during the qualification, promise a spectacular round.
The Antalya World Cup is progressing perfectly well in a great setting in which the Turkish Federation earns credit for the enormous and intense job they are carrying out with great efficiency. On a sad note, we remember Ali Yilmaz, who suddenly passed away in his hotel in Antalya where he was set to cover the tournament. During his life, Ali Yilmaz put in a wealth of passion and work in covering billiards through the media. May he rest in peace.
