The World Confederation of Billiards Sports (WCBS) is delighted to confirm that Billiards has once again been included in the official sports programme for The World Games 2029. The announcement was made by the International World Games Association following the ratification of the sports programme at its Annual General Meeting in Lausanne on 25 April 2026.

The inclusion of Billiards underlines the continued importance and global appeal of cue sports within the World Games movement. As one of the core sports on the programme, Billiards will once again provide a world-class platform for elite athletes to compete on the international stage.

The World Games 2029 will take place from 19 to 29 July 2029, with around 4,000 athletes from more than 100 countries expected to participate. Karlsruhe will become the first city to host The World Games for a second time, having previously staged the event in 1989.

WCBS President Mr. Farouk Barki welcomes the confirmation of Billiards and looks forward to working closely with the IWGA, the Local Organising Committee, and its member federations to deliver an outstanding competition in Karlsruhe.

Further details regarding disciplines and medal events for Billiards are expected to be announced during the next phase of programme planning later in 2026.
