At the UMB General Assembly held today in Istanbul, the UMB Executive Committee (UMB EC) was reelected with 100% approval.
All members of the UMB Executive Committee—President Farouk Barki, Vice President Fernando Requena, Treasurer Rainer Selgrath, Sports Director Ersan Ercan, and Secretary General Herbert Thuer—stated in their acceptance speeches that they viewed this overwhelming vote of confidence both as a heartfelt thank you for the work they have done and—above all—as a mandate for the coming years.
Santos Chocron, a long-standing member of the UMB Executive Committee and a fixture on the international billiards scene, will step back into a supporting role as an advisor to the UMB following this General Assembly. In recognition of his decades of dedicated service, he was today named an honorary member of the UMB by acclamation of the entire General Assembly.
